Professor George Peterken
Professor George Peterken OBE is a forest ecologist with a background in nature conservation and forestry and a side-interest in meadow ecology.
First at the Nature Conservancy and then as part of the Chief Scientist’s team in the Nature Conservancy Council, he led the development of national surveys of woodland and their management for nature conservation.
Author of several books, including titles in both the New Naturalist series and the British Wildlife Collection, he is also an honorary professor at the University of Nottingham.
